We are excited to announce Deep Wild Journal: Writing from the Backcountry, our forthcoming new print/online literary journal focusing on the outdoor experience.
Deep Wild Journal aspires to join you on a journey. We seek to inspire, and be inspired by, your wanders in the wild.
Deep Wild Journal will not simply be a collection of experiences. It will be filled with poems, stories, and creative nonfiction inspired by those times when nature meets man.
The journal will be published in a print format that makes it comfortable to fit in a pack. It will be perfect to read by daylight, firelight, or flashlight, whether on the trail or in the comfort of your home.

We anticipate that the first issue of Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry will be released in late summer. It takes time to create a journal from scratch, and we are committed to doing it right–at the same time that we are fulfilling our other obligations and pursuing our multiple passions in this busy and too-short life. But please stay tuned; we have received a large amount of excellent material, and it will be worth the wait!
