Druid Arch

Poet Tova Feldmanstern captures why we crave wild places in “The Hushed Needle,” forthcoming this July in Deep Wild: Writing from the Backcountry:

into the quiet places

i go tumbling

after the cacophony

after the togetherness

after the once and forever loneliness

there is an urge to run

to be gone from the known world

vast and peopled

to find a precious nothing

thread the hushed needle

dig for blood
